Life Line by karichristensen Life Line by karichristensen
I finished this one two weeks ago. It was done just like the bot, acrylic on canvas and adrenaline. This one means so much to me I don't know what to do with it. I showed it to some friends and was a little disappointed. They didn't seem to understand. I hope it screams and then whispers softly just like it speaks to me.

*edit* Thomas Baxa traded with me for this painting so it has found a good home and I gained a very nice Baxa vampire.

As you said in the description, it really speaks to me, and I'm not sure what you meant it to be, but to me it seems to have an intense sense of suffering, claustrophobia and suffocation, as if whoever is in the mask wants to scream but they can't make a sound. To me, it seems that the mouths coming from the top of the head are the subconcious of the mask-wearer. They are what is really going on inside his/her head. Maybe a visual metaphor for the way a lot of us feel in every day life. It also spoke of insanity, and lonliness and isolation and depression and many other things. I love the idea of the life line connecting whoever it is to oxygen/life/reality/however you interpret it, and that the life line is so fragile.

Over all and intensly sinister piece... I can't look at it for too long =P (:+fav:)

However, those are just my assumptions - I have no idea what you actually intended the picture to mean.

beautiful expression of the self. I see it as a bottle of inner demons and voices all fighting for control with only one 'pluged' into reality.
